Administrative Offices Closed on Labor Day

August 31st, 2008

We just wanted to take a quick moment to say that we are not going to be open on Monday September 1st in observance of Labor Day. Our site will still be up and we encourage the orders to keep rolling in because we will be cranking out custom printed tees and embroidered hats at a furious pace again on Tuesday.

We want to wish everyone a great Labor Day Holiday and remember to take it easy!

GO AWAY Gustav, Dirty Coast Style

August 29th, 2008

We have been a fan for a while of The Dirty Coast and their t-shirts based out of New Orleans, Louisiana. They capture some pretty heavy issues with strong design and humor and print them on t-shirts to spread the message. We feel like this design sums up the anticipation of yet another hurricane that we are all hoping dies out in the Gulf:

Dirty Coast T-Shirts

Yep, with hurricane Gustav bearing down on Louisiana it’s time we all showed the weather-battered state a little sympathy.  As the shirt itself points out much of the country’s oil production comes from, or at least through, Louisiana and the last thing we need right now is an even more limited, expensive supply!

Our thoughts and best wishes are with the people of Louisiana and their family as they brace themselves for potentially another hurricane! Wherever Gustav decides to rear his ugly face, please make sure and do everything you can for those in need.

T-Shirt Blog Link-Up

August 28th, 2008

Well folks, it’s time for our regular link up to the top fifteen t-shirt blog posts from the past week.  We feel that these blogs went out of their way to bring us unique, creative designs and interesting, valuable information about t-shirts.  So check out these winners:

Wild Turkeys RULE from Shirts on Sale
This blog features one of Shirt.Woot’s newest t-shirts.  The shirt and design itself is very clever and attractive looking, but as SOS points the cast is a little too low for a standard wishbone break.

Glennz Strikes Gold Again via Hide Your Arms
This amusing blog entry comments on a new Glennz shirt called ‘Before Stardom’.  It features a design of Kermit the Frog as a tadpole (you know, before he was famous).

Threadless Sale from the T-Shirt Review
This blog announces the Threadless Back to School Sale and also features a couple of great shirt designs on sale for $12.  Our favourite design, and the main reason we wanted to feature this blog is the ‘Grandpa Cassette’ shirt.  Check it out!

Threadless Back to School Sale from Compete-tee-tion
OK, so we’re featuring two blogs back to back with very similar titles, and I bet you can already figure out what this blog entry is about as well.  However, the gang over at Compete-tee-tion did an awesome job showing us some of the very best shirts from this sale!  Our personal favorite is ‘Roughin’ It’ which depicts nature as a gang of angry thugs.  Other highlights include ‘Vampire’, and ‘Failed Launch’.

Be Maniac from Shirt Find
This entry discusses a very cool design called ‘Be Maniac’.  As Shirt Find points out, the placement of this design is rather different, but the coolness of the artwork makes it worth trying out.  We also really like the color scheme used.

Lee Washington For Facebook T-Shirt from I Love Your Shirt
Once again i love your shirt brings our attention to another cool t-shirt designer.  Washington’s ‘Credit Crunch’ is a very amusing parody of Capn’Crunch which pokes fun at the widespread credit issues plaguing the economy.

The Lurker from Shirts on Sale
This terrific t-shirt design features the word ‘lurker’ in an extremely well-concealed camouflage print.  Indeed, at first glance it looks like just another camo shirt.

Too Cool For School via The Daily Tee
The Daily Tee brings us a really gross, but really amusing t-shirt design.  Indeed this is practically the definition of potty humor.

Split Reason from Funky Duds
Retro video game t-shirts are VERY popular right now and anyone who ever played the original Nintendo should have no trouble figuring out where this t-shirt design comes from.

Tin: Old Skool from T Shirt Roundup
T Round Up found a really funny shirt to feature in this terrific blog.  It depicts the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz fighting with C3PO from Star Wars.  Looks Like C3PO may need to call R2D2 for some back up!

Unicorn Burger’s Fun With Food from Cottonable
One of our favorite blogs of the week is definitely Cottonable’s write-up of these great Unicorn Burger designs.  ‘Sweet Sweet Coffee’ features a cute little beverage proclaiming his dominion over his humble addicts.  ‘Let’s Be Friends’ is a freakishly cute, yet very dark rendering of a monster happily leading off his latest victim, who happens to be a child happily enjoying a lollipop.

Draco Wins at Itself from The T-Shirt Review
This comprehensive and informative blog features the work of the t-shirt designed Draco.  He’s got some really great stuff and The T-Shirt Review definitely does a fantastic job highlighting them and providing commentary.  Our favorite is the one with the rabbit and the magician.  Check it out!

Six Pack Abs Tee from Hide Your Arms
Jack Black is funny. Enough said.

Traffic Jam from Shirts on Sale
This blog points to a shirt design with a very big pun.  Puns are of course another matter of personal taste.  Speaking of taste…well just go check out the shirt!

I Heart Coffee from Shirt Find
This blog features an excellent, vivid, and very creative design.  It shows a realistic heart so addicted to coffee that it seems to be ingesting it intravenously.  If you’re a coffee fan this is a shirt you might want to look into.

Security Feature in Firefox for You Design It

August 27th, 2008

There are many different ways to determine if a website checkout area is secure or not. Some of those ways are well known and they are all equally important. I just came across a new one that Firefox has implemented with the latest version upgrade of the browser.

Naturally, I am going to show you a snapshot of how it looks in our Design Studio where we have 256-bit encryption. We want our customers to feel ultra secure as they make purchases of custom printed t-shirts and embroidered hats.

The security feature I am talking about is a rollover tool tip in the favicon area of the Firefox web browser next to the URL. If your transaction page is secure, then when you rollover the blue favicon area, you will see who the site is verified by. In our case, it is Go Daddy.

Take a look at the snapshot of the You Design It Design Studio and remember to test the site out wherever your next purchase may be:

Design By Humans Submission #2

August 25th, 2008

We had to do it again, we just entered the Design By Humans t-shirt contest and brought the best we had to offer right now. We went with the trendier hand drawn look and included the timeless boombox. The title of the design is Seeing Sounds and right now it is pending approval. I will post the design link as soon as possible. The light grey print on the shirt actually represents metallic silver. If you get a chance, please swing by and give me a vote. ;)

**UPDATE** The artwork has been approved and you can click here to view and vote.

Here is a sneak preview:

How to Start a T-Shirt Clothing Line?

August 25th, 2008

We get this question all of the time and we are working on gathering information in the easiest to read format for anyone wanting to get started. We feel helpless some times when answering this question because there is so much involved and it is hard to find a good beginning spot. We can feel how anxious the inquiry is and how overwhelming it can be to hear too much information at once.

The process needs to be broken down from beginning to end in a way that anyone starting a t-shirt clothing line can relate to and understand. We are going to do that and make it available for everyone. No more getting frustrated or overwhelmed with so many questions and so few answers. We are going to help. We will keep you posted and give updates throughout the process.

This is going to be fun because we will create our own branded t-shirt line as an example….
