Geometry T-Shirt from Threadless
Threadless has a new shirt out called “The Discovery of Geometry” which we felt would make an interesting shirt to blog about. Here are a few images:
As you can see, this is a very ‘busy’ design that gives the impression of movement even when the wearer is still.
These types of abstract renderings make for some very interesting analysis. The first thing I thought of when I saw this design was that it reminded me of the front of a very elaborate jukebox. One also has to wonder what the significance of the eyes on either side of the design is. I’m also fascinated by the snake/worm like creatures toward the middle of the shirt which look like they have a cross between a fork tongue and a fishhook coming out of their mouths.
Obviously the focal point of the design though is the gold triangular shape in the upper center of shirt. Given its placement, and that fact that it is the only part of the design in color, it takes on an almost sacred air. All around this is an extremely fascinating t-shirt and the designer, YASLY (Danny Jones), should be very proud of it.
