As infographics gained in popularity we became big fans of their ability to educate about a subject in an entertaining way. It made us want to look all over the web to try and find an infographic about t-shirts. We searched and surfed and couldn’t find one anywhere. That is when the light bulb went off, we would just have to make our own t-shirt infographic.

After doing a little research we found 10 pretty cool facts about t-shirts that most people wouldn’t know. We took those 10 facts and created a custom illustration for each one and put it on a really long t-shirt. The way we tried to set it apart was by building it with CSS instead of making it one big jpeg. It was a fun exercise albeit a very long and intensive one.

It’s easy to use a resource everyday and take it for granted without ever mentioning to other people how helpful it really is. Very often I find myself searching through Emptees list of tees or designers to keep an eye out for trends, new talent, or just great designs.

Emptees is also a terrific place to showcase your designs and get a feel for how they will be received. The community based nature of the site means that feedback and support from other artists is very common and it’s a great way to get buzz for your new designs. They also have an awesome resources section where you can find links to helpful articles and tutorials. Whether you’re a seasoned designer or a novice…Emptees is a terrific, free resources that shouldn’t be ignored.

A t-shirt blog that we are a big fan of here at You Design It needs your help.  Andy, at Hide Your Arms, is offering a great deal on Threadless gift certificates.  He has some $25 gets certificates to Threadless and he is selling them for $17 each.  The guy needs a new computer, and quite frankly, we want him to make his goal.  We don’t want to imagine the t-shirt blogosphere without Hide Your Arms. .

He is raising money to get a new laptop, because his current one is on its last leg.  It is nice when someone is raising money and they are offering a heck of a deal, because too many times people just ask for handouts.  This would be a great buy even if there wasn’t a good reason behind it.  Good luck Andy, we hope this helps!

We are proud to announce the launch our new t-shirt videos aggregate site You Design It TV. We recently put the finishing touches on the site and thought there was no better place to make the announcement than the official You Design It blog.

The site will be updated often with embedded videos from video sites such as YouTube, Vimeo, Blip and more. They will cover a wide array of topics that are all t-shirt related. We hope you can learn, laugh, or be inspired by the videos we are hand-selecting from the web for posting on the site. Signs are pointing in the direction that the worst is behind us in terms of the poor economy! We have a long way to go but we’re glad everything is moving in the right direction. Even so, we’ll still be known for cheap custom t-shirts because you shouldn’t have to pay a lot to get high quality.
