T-Shirt Feeds, All In One Place

October 2nd, 2008

Quite often we mention subscribing to t-shirt blog feeds as a way to keep up to date on all the t-shirt news and trends.  In addition to that, for our regular news and updates that we get on the Internet, we frequently visit sites like Digg and AllTop.

I just don’t feel like the t-shirt world gets the credit it is due and I have now found a place that does such a thing. The website is called TeeReader and and they have listed over 20 t-shirt blogs with active feeds.  The site looks fairly simple and it is a great place to easily locate interesting t-shirt stories.  We suggest you check it out.

T-Shirt Blog Link-Up

September 26th, 2008

It’s once again time for our weekly round up of the top blogs of the week.  We were really impressed with the quality this week and it took some trimming to get the list down to something we can work with!

Autumn = Embarrassment from Shirts On Sale
This amusing selection from SOS plays on the idea that in autumn when the trees begin to lose their leaves they are understandably embarrassed about their lack of covering.  Cute concept and well executed.

DBH10K 4th Place from The T-Shirt Review
This blog does a great job pointing out and reviewing Jimiyo’s “Fight the Good Fight”.  As the blog points out the detail is amazing!

Global Goodie from ILoveYourShirt
Once again ILoveYourShirt has found a truly fascinating company and done an excellent write up on them! This blog is about a clothing line aimed at children to help teach them about food in different cultures.

Drawlimited.com Need Your Doodles from Buy-Tees
This blog points out toward a very cool website where you can submit your doodles and, if you’re lucky, hope to see them on a shirt on other people!  It’s a cool idea and some of the artwork worth printing.

I’m So Adjective from Funky Duds
I really love this awesome t-shirt…or should I say I really verb this adjective noun?  Anyway, this one’s a sure hit for any grammar nerd and it has the added bonus of helping you learn to diagram your sentences.

Micky Mouse Trapped by Addiction from Defunkd
This blog points us toward a vintage t-shirt with an amusing write-up of some of Micky’s darkest days.  If you love (or hate) Disney, you’re sure to get a laugh out of this one.

Mr. Spork from Shirts on Sale

Okay, I admit it; I love a good pun.  Explaining the shirt will of course ruin the joke, just remember that a ‘spork’ is a cross between a fork and a spoon.

Cameesa – Crowdfunding Fashion from Addic[tee]d
Wow!  This is one of the most psychedelic, colorful, and all around original t-shirts that I’ve seen in awhile.  The design can only be accurately described as ‘trippy’.  Check it out.

Collarfree from T Shirt Review
This blog gives us information and a very cool write-up on the company ‘Collarfree’.  They have some really awesome designs and they’re definitely worth a few mouse clicks to scan through.  Thanks for the heads up T Shirt Review!

The Photo Guessing Game from Rumplo
This is definitely a fantastic idea and this blog was one of the most fun to read this week. If you spend a lot of time checking out t-shirt sites you’re bound to get a kick out of this one and you’ll probably kick some butt and get most of them right! Let us know how many you get.

New This Week at Design By Humans from Compete-tee-tion
This blog post rounds up the top new designs of the week over at Design By Humans and offers a brief review of each.  They had some really great ones this week!

Self Service from Pop Culture Tees
Wow!  I’d definitely hate to have to pay to fill up that guy!  I wonder what sort of millage he gets?  Amusing shirt, well designed, and sure to be a hit with Transformers fans everywhere!

Coltesse from The Fat Seagull
This Fat Seagull blog introduces us to the company ‘Coltesse’.  They have some really terrific designs.  Indeed if we weren’t featuring this write up we’d have brought a few more by them.

The Raw Feed T-Shirt News Roundup from Tcritic
Wow!  Karl Long really took his time and brought us some truly amazing designs and some awesome reviews.  This is a must-check-out for any t-shirt lover.

Sullen x Nikko, Skull Head T-Shirt from The Daily Tee
This is a pretty dark, twisted looking design.  In fact, it probably would have gone well with last week’s Twisted round up.  Unfortunately that list is completed so we’re throwing it in here as a belated bonus.

T-Shirt Blog Linkup – Freaky Edition

September 19th, 2008

In keeping with our past installments of the top blogs of the week, today we bring you another edition with a twist. In fact the twist is that they feature ‘twisted’ tees. Check them out!

‘T-Shirt For The Broken Heart’ from The Daily Tee
This t-shirt features a bloody and damaged looking, realistic style heart. The band-aids make it clear that this is a ‘broken heart’. This is definitely a shirt you’ll want to check out if you want to make someone feel guilty…or slightly disturbed.

‘Clash of the Titans T-Shirt by Pyscho Reindeer’ from Tcritic
When part of the blog title features the word ‘psycho’ it’s a pretty safe bet that the blog will make the freaky list. In this case the featured shirt depicts a certain creepy robot owl and links to a very cool, very freaky t-shirt company.

‘A Code of Honour Amongst The House of Thieves’ from Buy-Tees
Creepy, ghoulish arms, a half-dead looking girl, and plenty of skulls for good measure. Another blog that was a definite in from the get go. This one does a fantastic job proving information and a review of The House of Thieves company.

‘Inidivisual Have a New Tee and a Lovely Coupon Code’ from Hide Your Arms
A bit less creepy than most of this week’s picks, this one makes it in the merit of the freaky looking nature man with the red eyes and the flowers growing out of his mouth. An added bonus is that this shirt is eco-friendly!

‘A Vintage Pink Floyd Shirt That’s All Wright’ from Defunkd
Check out the pigs and the psychedelic Pink Floyd symbol and it’s easy to see what this blog is doing here as well. Not to mention the fact that Pink Floyd is iconic and the designs are just plain cool to begin with.

‘In Black We Trust’ from Addic[tee]d
Check out the creepy skeleton man with the long rocker hair and the crazy looking, semi-face design on the last tee. There’s no way you’ll fail to make an impression wearing those. We can even forgive the too-fast flashing animation this blog employes.

‘Ambiguous Shady Tee at The Urban Shop’ from The Fat Seagull
The Fat Seagull made an excellent selection with this blog. The design is a terrific all over print with a pair of textured sunglasses. Everyone knows sunglasses are a common tactic for disguising evil and thus this very cool blog makes the cut too.

‘Tomorrow Will Be Fine’ from Funky Duds
Maybe it’s just me, but that face – although definitely cute – looks a little freaky to me. Check
out those eyes and that smile. Don’t they seem to be hiding malicious intent? In any case tomorrow will be fine with this nifty shirt.

’12 new tees over at No Star Clothing’ from Hide Your Arms
These shirts are pretty cool. Most of them are definitely on the funny side, but the campfire heart
and broken toothed lips are definitely enough to tilt into the twisted category. The very amusing ‘hoo’ and ‘Maybe Partying Will Help’ are high quality bonuses!

‘Barcodewood’ from ShirtFind
There’s certainly a healthy dose of symbolism and plenty of room for interpretation with this shirt. Are we destroying nature for consumerism? Will it ultimately overshadow everything else? Who cares (forgive the stolen owl shirt pun) when it features an adorably cute but twisted looking creature encountering a creepy barcode forest?

‘Beautiful Decay T-Shirts and Hoodies On Sale’ from Tcritic
The company Beautiful Decay is practically synonmous with creepy, but well-designed clothes. Just take a look at the first shirt featured in this blog and you know right away that these shirts are no exception. A skinny, pale sleeping girl who seems to be engulfed in a combination of her own hair and a dark, shadowy essence…well I’m freaked out!

‘When Animals go Wild’ from The T-Shirt Review
This blog is definitely the epitome of our creepy collection (way to go The T-Shirt Review!). We have an incredibly morbid statement written in blood red ink, a bloody ninja monkey, rabbits holding everything from bloody axes, deadly carrots, and chainsaws, a cat running away with a bleeding dismembered tongue, and finally what is, in my opinion, the ultimate in gore a blood-soaked Hobbes crouching over a mutilated Calvin….WOW!

‘New T-Shirts from No Star Clothing From WTF to McCain’ from Cottonable
I know we already mentioned a blog that listed these tees, but Cottonable has some great write-ups to go with the fewer shirts they featured and the designs are larger and more visible. Our favorite is the WTF pill dispenser. Yeah that about sums up what we were thinking after seeing this week’s featured blogs.

T-Shirt Blog Linkup

September 11th, 2008

We’ve made the rounds of t-shirt blogs and have a list of the ones that made an impression on us. Yes, we meant to write the word impression (screen printing term for a print on a t-shirt). Get over it.

New Shirt Monday at Threadless! from Compete-tee-tion
This blog does a great job announcing and explaining Threadless’ recent price adjustments.  It also features some VERY cool shirts.  Our favorite is ‘Cold Blooded Ocean’ which depicts a fisherman wheeling in a very big catch indeed!

The Choice Was Not Hard from Shirts On Sale
Once again Shirts on Sale delivers a blog featuring an amusing, well-designed t-shirt.  This one depicts someone at the crossroads with signs pointing toward ‘Money’, ‘Big Success’, ‘Fame’, ‘Fortune’, and Glory’ OR ‘Really Cool Waterslides’…the choice was not hard.

Freshly Baked Tee Shirts From Vintage Vantage via Cottonable
This blog features information about the company Vintage Vantage which focuses on cool, retro-style t-shirts.  It also gives us examples of some of their old-school tees.

Etsy Shirt Finds from ShirtFind
This blog selects some of the best Etsy designs, among them is ‘Long Legs’ which is a simple shirt with a giraffe running the length it.  “Pieces is a fantastic collage of appendages, and the last design is of a cool looking octopus down near the base of the shirt.

‘Know Your Spock’ Shirt Tests Your Trek Knowledge (Not Really) from Militant Geek Custom Shirts
This find from Militant Geek plays on the idea that anyone with a mustache and goatee is bound to be evil while clean-shaven people are good. This one is sure to be a hit with any Star Trek fan.

Skin Of The City Tees From SQY-T from The Fat Seagull
This really cool shirt features a total, all-over design of a skyscraper.  Talk about adapting and blending into your surroundings!  Very cool shirt.

I Don’t Need Wikipedia (My Spouse Knows Everything) from Shirts on Sale
This shirt is the perfect selection for anyone with a ‘know-it-all’ spouse.  Of course you might want to avoid wearing the shirt AROUND the know-it-all!

Camera Obscura from Buythisshirt.org
This very cool design features an all over, jumbled camera print.  Near the base of the shirt the cameras are a dark blue, the higher up the shirt you go the lighter they get.  All around very cool.

New This Week at Design By Humans from compete-tee-tion
This blog highlights the new designs of the week from Design By Humans.  There are some real catches here.  Our favorite is ‘The Defender’ which features an over-sized, abstract design of what appears to be feathers, armor, weapons, and a bird.  All done in a very pale ink.  COOL!

Let’s Do Something Shady By Local Celebrity from Hide Your Arms
This blog from Hide Your Arms features a very insightful review of the company ‘Local Celebrity’.  Check out the blog and their site for more info.  Regarding the title shirt itself…well who wouldn’t love such a fun pun?

Modern Tribe from TShirtReview.com
This blog reveals fascinating information about the company ‘Modern Tribe’ which specializes in Jewish merchandise.  The featured shirt is a very sharp design of the Jewish alphabet.

The Angel Subwoofer T-Shirt by David Deter from The Daily Tee
This blog highlights a shirt which brings us the very odd union of angels and stereo equipment.  You’ll have to admit that isn’t a pairing seen very often, but the shirt is very well done and benefits from the creativity.

Unethical Mind Experiments on Miniaturized Animals from Shirts on Sale
This great find from Shirts on Sale is really unique!  The title of the blog/shirt itself lets you know you’re in for a treat.  Check this one out!

DBH Announce FTSK T-Shirt Design Winner from The T-Shirt Review
This blog features the results of the Design by Humans contest to create a band t-shirt for ‘The Sickest Kid’.  The resulting shirt is pretty awesome!  Check it out.

DesignersBlock T-Shirts at Top Shop from Buy-Tees
Once again ‘Buy-Tees’ brings us a top-notch review of an innovative company.  This time that company is ‘DesignersBlock’ which is headquartered in London.  Check out their very cool stuff!

T-Shirt Blog Linkup – Diversity Style

September 4th, 2008

This week we noticed that our favorite blogs were covering a diverse set of t-shirts, t-shirt companies, and t-shirt designs.  We usually emphasize just our favorites and what we consider to be some of the top designs and blog posts about the designs.  We stuck with that again this week, but with an added emphasis on diversity.  We hope you enjoy!

Ontour F/W 08 “Cosmic Crack” from addic[tee]d
This blog post from Addic[tee]d does a fantastic job highlighting a t-shirt label called ‘Ontour’ which focuses on Sci-Fi, space related apparel.  This is definitely a niche market, but anyone can appreciate the terrific designs.

Apliiq it on Your Blank T-shirts and They will be Less Boring from Cottonable
Cottonable does an excellent job explaining what Appliq is and how it works.  It’s a pretty cool trend and it really does spice up more traditional t-shirts.  Check it out!

A Very S.A.D. T-Shirt from Hide Your Arms
This blog features an excellent review of a t-shirt that is heat sensitive. When it’s warm the sun shines through the clouds and everything’s great. When it’s cold the sun disappears and clouds take over. Very cool!

Beach Ballin from Shirt Find
This is a design that features a mostly two-tone front with a light blue bottom and a white top. The kicker is that in the context of the design the blue is the ocean and there’s a very colorful beach-ball floating on top with clouds further up.

Tiny Trends, Part 5 from Rumplo
Rumplo continues their tiny trends series with this blog. The reason we wanted to feature it though was because of their excellent write up and the great designs they picked for the ‘T-shirt Tuxedo’ trend.

More Dirty Laundry from Buy-Tees
One of the most avant garde companies out there is definitely Dirty Laundry which uses stains to create their t-shirt designs. In this blog write up we learn more about their process and technique. This increased knowledge may or may not be a good thing depending on your perspective. Either way it’s cool though.

Oddica $10 Sale from T-Shirts Around the Internet
With so much attention on Threadless and their sale, how could we not show a little love to Oddica as well? Oddica has some really cool designs (some of which we featured in our last blog) and this blog does a great job directing our attention to them. Check out the comments for a promotional code!

Reserve LA/Colver Photo Exhibit Tee from The Fat Seagull
The Fat Seagull points us toward one very cool shirt with this one! The design features a skeletal hand with the finger touching a finger of a VERY realistic looking ‘normal’ hand. As every artist knows the human hand is one of the most difficult things to re-create and this design does a superb job.

Jimmy..Is That You? from Shirts On Sale
This design is so well done that it’s almost sad. It features four anthropomorphized pumpkins gathered around a fresh, steaming pie (guess what kind of pie). It’s a pretty cute idea and well-executed. Great!

Babymother Tee from Tee Junkie
This blog points us toward one of the most memorable, amusing maternity shirts that we’ve ever seen. It definitely goes way beyond the discrete colors and bulk that many maternity shirts employ and instead relishes the idea of pregnancy in a very amusing way.

Introducing Andy Monsters from T Round Up
This informative blog gives us the scoop on a very cool new line called ‘AndyMonsters’.  This line features bright colors with simple, yet beautifully done monster designs. The kicker is that 100%(!) of the proceeds go to charity!

Stop Animal Testing from teecycle
This shirt is straight up hilarious! Given the title you would think that it would think that it would be a shirt about the ethical treatment of animals…well it is…sorta. Check it out!

Come Spy With Us from Iloveyourtshirt
How can anyone not love a Trojan Horse t-shirt? Especially when it features such a quirky design and puts so much emphasis on the tailend of the giant horse.

Sharpshirter’s Next Level Humor from Cottonable
This design points us toward a new line that has an emphasis on humor AND design. So many t-shirt lines focus on only one or the other, but this line truly nails both!  Definitely worth checking out.

BustedTees: $14.99 New Someecards Tees from Shirts On Sale
Retro designs with amusing captions, what’s not to love about these terrific BustedTee designs? The fact that they’re on sale makes them all the sweeter!

T-Shirt Blog Link-Up

August 28th, 2008

Well folks, it’s time for our regular link up to the top fifteen t-shirt blog posts from the past week. We feel that these blogs went out of their way to bring us unique, creative designs and interesting, valuable information about t-shirts. So check out these winners:

Wild Turkeys RULE from Shirts on Sale
This blog features one of Shirt.Woot’s newest t-shirts. The shirt and design itself is very clever and attractive looking, but as SOS points the cast is a little too low for a standard wishbone break.

Glennz Strikes Gold Again via Hide Your Arms
This amusing blog entry comments on a new Glennz shirt called ‘Before Stardom’. It features a design of Kermit the Frog as a tadpole (you know, before he was famous).

Threadless Sale from the T-Shirt Review
This blog announces the Threadless Back to School Sale and also features a couple of great shirt designs on sale for $12. Our favourite design, and the main reason we wanted to feature this blog is the ‘Grandpa Cassette’ shirt. Check it out!

Threadless Back to School Sale from Compete-tee-tion
OK, so we’re featuring two blogs back to back with very similar titles, and I bet you can already figure out what this blog entry is about as well. However, the gang over at Compete-tee-tion did an awesome job showing us some of the very best shirts from this sale! Our personal favorite is ‘Roughin’ It’ which depicts nature as a gang of angry thugs. Other highlights include ‘Vampire’, and ‘Failed Launch’.

Be Maniac from Shirt Find
This entry discusses a very cool design called ‘Be Maniac’. As Shirt Find points out, the placement of this design is rather different, but the coolness of the artwork makes it worth trying out. We also really like the color scheme used.

Lee Washington For Facebook T-Shirt from I Love Your Shirt
Once again i love your shirt brings our attention to another cool t-shirt designer. Washington’s ‘Credit Crunch’ is a very amusing parody of Capn’Crunch which pokes fun at the widespread credit issues plaguing the economy.

The Lurker from Shirts on Sale
This terrific t-shirt design features the word ‘lurker’ in an extremely well-concealed camouflage print. Indeed, at first glance it looks like just another camo shirt.

Too Cool For School via The Daily Tee
The Daily Tee brings us a really gross, but really amusing t-shirt design. Indeed this is practically the definition of potty humor.

Split Reason from Funky Duds
Retro video game t-shirts are VERY popular right now and anyone who ever played the original Nintendo should have no trouble figuring out where this t-shirt design comes from.

Tin: Old Skool from T Shirt Roundup
T Round Up found a really funny shirt to feature in this terrific blog. It depicts the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz fighting with C3PO from Star Wars. Looks Like C3PO may need to call R2D2 for some back up!

Unicorn Burger’s Fun With Food from Cottonable
One of our favorite blogs of the week is definitely Cottonable’s write-up of these great Unicorn Burger designs. ‘Sweet Sweet Coffee’ features a cute little beverage proclaiming his dominion over his humble addicts. ‘Let’s Be Friends’ is a freakishly cute, yet very dark rendering of a monster happily leading off his latest victim, who happens to be a child happily enjoying a lollipop.

Draco Wins at Itself from The T-Shirt Review
This comprehensive and informative blog features the work of the t-shirt designed Draco. He’s got some really great stuff and The T-Shirt Review definitely does a fantastic job highlighting them and providing commentary. Our favorite is the one with the rabbit and the magician. Check it out!

Six Pack Abs Tee from Hide Your Arms
Jack Black is funny. Enough said.

Traffic Jam from Shirts on Sale
This blog points to a shirt design with a very big pun. Puns are of course another matter of personal taste. Speaking of taste…well just go check out the shirt!

I Heart Coffee from Shirt Find
This blog features an excellent, vivid, and very creative design. It shows a realistic heart so addicted to coffee that it seems to be ingesting it intravenously. If you’re a coffee fan this is a shirt you might want to look into.
